Dr Mar Yulios blesses the new home in Muscat

Muscat: ‘Athimoottil’, the new Muscat residence of Ahmedabad Diocese Council member and businessman Mathew Ninan Athimoottil was blessed by Ahmedabad Diocese Metropolitan HG Pullikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios during his visit to the Sultanate last month.
After the blessing ceremony, Dr Mar Yulios went around the organic garden, posed and appreciated the fruit bearing fig and mango trees being planted. Muscat Mar Gregorios Maha Edavaka President/Vicar Fr Joji George Koickalethu was also present. Fig tree is cultivated for its edible fruit and finds mention in the New Testament. Cursing the fig tree is one of the miracles of Jesus in the Gospels.
The new Villa No 5420, named ‘Athimoottil’  is located at Al Hail (North) and the Ninan’s are old time residents of Muscat spanning over four decades.
Dr Mar Yulios had nominated Mathew Ninan, a senior member of Muscat Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka, to the Ahmedabad Diocesan Council and advisory committee for educational institutions.
Mathew Ninan Athimoottil, also known as Raju, a member of the Maha Edavaka since 1973, held several important posts in the past. St Kuriakose Orthodox Church, Melpadom, is his home parish under Niranam Diocese. Mathew Ninan hails from ‘Athimoottil Bungalow’, Melpadom P O, Mannar in Alappuzha district. Mrs Leela Mathew is his spouse and Reji Ninan Mathew is his son.
