Fr Joji George calls for creating environment consciousness

Muscat: Muscat Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka President/Vicar Fr Joji George Koickalethu has called upon the parishioners to create awareness about the environment in the best possible manner. He was speaking after launching the World Environment Day celebrations at the Maha Edavaka on June 7, Friday. Greening of the environment and making use of its benefits must be everyone’s motive, he added.
The function was organised by the MGOCYM unit of the Maha Edavaka. Assistant Vicar Fr Binu John Thomas also spoke on the occasion. Maha Edavaka executive members including Hon Trustee T J Joseph, Hon Co-Trustee John Thomas Vadakkedom, Hon Secretary Biju George, Diocese Council member Mammen George, area committee members and others also took part in the function.
Few saplings were planted at the church premises to mark the occasion.
World Environment Day is an annual event that is celebrated every year on 5 June to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action. The event is aimed at being the biggest and most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action.
