Gujarat UCF for Human Rights meet takes stock at Diocese HQ

Ahmedabad: The Executive Committee Meeting of the Gujarat United Christian Forum for Human Rights (GUCFHR) met for the first time at Ahmedabad Diocese HQ, St Thomas Bishop’s House, Naroda.
The round table meeting was held under the presidentship of Ahmedabad Diocese Metropolitan HG Pullikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios on on July 29 from 6 pm onwards.
It was for the first time the new conference hall of St Thomas Bishop’s House was thrown up for a major meeting with other Christian groups.
The meeting mainly took stock of various important matters regarding GUCFHR. The agenda included registration of GUCFHR, freedom of religion case and the current situation in Gujarat vis-a-vis the minorities.
Archbishop Most Rev Stanislaus Fernandez of Catholic Church participated in the meeting GUCFHR convener and Jesuit human rights activist Fr Cedric Prakash, SJ, Director of Prashant moderated. Also present were  Fr Jacob Mathew, Ahmedabad Diocesan Secretary, Adv Mathai Mampallil and others. Elders, representatives from sister churches also attended the meeting.
