Supreme Head of the Indian Orthodox Church arrives in UK

His Holiness Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II,  Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan of the Indian Orthodox Church arrived in London on 7th morning for a five day to the United Kingdom.
This is the first visit of the Supreme Head of the Indian Orthodox Church to the UK after Baselius Geevarghese II for the World Council of Churches (WCC) Faith and Order Commission at Edinburgh in 1937. The Headquarters of the Indian Orthodox Church, Devalokam, is located at Kottayam, in Kerala.
His Holiness will lead the consecration ceremony of the newly constructed St Marys Indian Orthodox Church in Bristol, assisted by Thomas Mar Athansius of Chengannur diocese and Diocesan bishop Dr. Mathews Mar Thimothios Metropolitan on Saturday 7th September. The Church is at 1b Bank Road, Pilning, Bristol.
On Sunday 8th September, the Metropolitan will be celebrating Devine Liturgy at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church at Brockley in London, the mother church of all the Indian Orthodox Churches in the UK. The service will start at 9 am followed by a reception to the visiting primate of the church. For those  who are unable to attend the service, live streaming of the service and meeting is arranged.
