Consecration after Renovation – MGOC, Janakpuri

Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church, Parumala of the North, B-2, Janakpuri, New Delhi has been renovated and is ready for rededication. His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Paulose II will be the Chief Celebrant of the occasion. The consecration of the newly constructed church will be on 26th & 27th October 2013. Metropolitans, HG Dr. Youhanon Mar Demetrios, HG Dr. Youhanon Mar Diascoros and HG Yakoob Mar Elias will be the co-celebrants.
Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church called “Parumala of the North” is a major pilgrimage center in Northern India since the holy relics of Parumala Thirumeni is installed in 1985; the old church was built in the end of seventies and having more than 650 families at present. The Church has given a lot of prayerful consideration to what God would have us do in the future.
Words are not enough to thank those who have contributed immensely to this parish since its inception. The moment of rededication is right time to bring together our thoughts, dreams and challenges to continue working towards the people of God and the society as a whole to keep the value of ‘True service’ alive through our Church.

Parish Formed on 2nd Nov. 1975
Foundation stone laid on 22nd October 1976 by His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews I
Consecrated on 2nd Nov. 1980 by HG Thomas Mar Thimotheos, Metropolitan Malabar in the presence of HG Dr. Paulose Mar Gregorios, Metropolitan Delhi and HG Stephanos Mar Theodosius, Metropolitan Calcutta.
Holy relics Installed on 29th Dec. 1985 by HG Dr. Paulose Mar Gregorios, Metropolitan Delhi
St. Gregorios School Started at Janakpuri in 1981 and shifted to Dwarka subcity in 2002
Kurisumthotti Consecrated on 5th November 2004 by HG Job Mar Philoxenos, Metropolitan, Delhi
Silver Jubilee 6th November 2005
Declared Parumala of the North – On 14th October 2008 by His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Didymos I
