St.Mary’s School Sec 46-B hosted  2nd  Dr. Paulose Mar Gregorios Inter School Debate Competition  to commemorate the 17th death anniversary of the founder of the school. Dr. Paulose Mar Gregorios was the first Metropolitan of Delhi Diocese of Malankara Orthodox Church  and the Principal of the Orthodox Theological Seminary Kottayam, Kerala.  He was master of many languages and authored many books. In the memorary of His grace St.Mary’s School took initiative last year to organize Inter school Debate competition which proved a huge success. This competition aims at providing the students a platform to express their views, to develop ability to contradict and take up criticism positively  This year also in an overwhelming response, various schools from the tricity  took part enthusiastically. The topic of the debate competition “Science and religion cannot coexist”.  The programme was started by the traditional lamp lighting by Mr. Jose.P the vice chairman ,Principal Mr Saji Jacob,Headmistress Mrs Mini Jose,Managing committee member Mr Sam Charian –and the event coordinator Mrs Sukhvir Kaur. The members of the jury were Prof Dr. Paramjeet Kaur Tulsi,Dean R&O,National Institute of Technical Teachers Training&Research Chd, Brig H.R.Sharma (Retd) – a motivational speaker and author of many books and Mrs Kiran Dutta- ex Principal of Air Force school Chd. The first best speaker’s  prize was bagged by Sanjana Arora  of    Manav Mangal High School, Kishika Goyal of Little Flower Convent School,Panchkula was selected for the 2nd best speaker and the third prize has gone to Vanshika Sharma  of Carmel Convent School. Manav Mangal School was ajudged as the  overall best team  and was awarded with Dr. Paulose Mar Gregorios Rolling trophy. While giving the feedback, judges apprised the participants with  their strong and  grey areas It was an exciting programme where every participant tried his/her best to draw the  attention of the judges  and the audience. The war of words was efficiently moderated by Sanjana Arora and Kishika Goyal  took the debate to its climax. The Principal & members of the managing committee  applauded all the participants
