Mar Theodosius leads Palm Sunday service at Muscat church

Muscat: HG Mathews Mar Theodosius, Metropolitan of Idukki Diocese,  led the Palm Sunday (Hosanna) Service on April 12, Saturday night at St Thomas Church, Muscat.
The Metropolitan urged the faithful to invite the ‘king’ into each ones’s hearts wholeheartedly and to make sacrifices to welcome Him. “It is an occasion to sing praise to the Lord and young children who are known for their ‘innocence’ must take part in this ritual with utmost devotion,” he added.
Palm Sunday marks the sixth and last Sunday of the Holy month of Lent and the beginning of Holy week. Mar Theodosius said the occasion presented itself like liberating the oppressed just like the olden times. Hosanna literally means “save now and pray now” and reiterated that now was the time to be saved and not tomorrow or the day after.
Large number of faithful attended the evening service, the Palm Sunday procession and the Holy Eucharist that followed. The Metropolitan will be leading the Passover Festival (April 16),  Feet Washing (April 17), Good Friday (April 18) and Easter services (April 19) at St Thomas Church.
Meanwhile, Rev Fr Joji George Koichalethu (President/Vicar), led the Palm Sunday service at the new St Mary’s Orthodox Church, Ghala.
