Sleeba Prayaanam: Jose Kurian Puliyeril, Kottayam

This serves to inform one and all that the re-construction of Kollad St. Paul’s Orthodox Church, the Parish, which is nearest to the Devalokam Aramana, the Head Quarters of Malankara Orthdox Church, is nearing completion. The cross to be placed on top of the Sanctuary will be blessed and sanctified by H.G, Geevarghese Mar Coorilose, Metropolitan of Mumbai Diocese, after the celebration of the Holy Qurbana and the rituals of the feast of all the Apostles on 30th June 2014. On 29th June, after the Holy Qurbana and rituals of the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul after the 13 days’ Lent, all parishioners will proceed as a motorcade to Mar Baselios Dayara Njaliyakuzhy, observing the Sleeba Prayaanam,  and will have special prayers at the Chapel as well as at the tomb of the former Diocesan Metropolitan of blessed memory, H.G. Geevarghese Mar Ivanios Thirumeni. Two wooden crosses were prepared for the purpose of the Sleeba Prayaanam (As the heavy concrete cross cannot be taken during the Sleeba Prayaanam) one among them  was already placed at the tomb of HG. Mar Ivanios Thirumeni on 16th. June at the beginning of the 13 days Lent and the same will be taken from there on 29th after prayers and will be brought back to Kollad Church. The chariot in front of the motorcade will carry the other Cross during the motorcade. After prayers at Njaliyakuzhy Dayara, the motorcade will proceed to  Pampady there and will have prayers at the Church as well as at the tombs of Saintly Pampady Thirumeni and H.G. Mathews Mar Ivanios Thirumeni, both former Diocesan Metropolitans. After prayers there the motorcade will reach the St. George Orthodox Church, Puthuppally (Valiya Pally) and would seek the continued intercession of the Nine Intercessors there and the motorcade would reach back to Kollad church. Fr. John Joseph Chalasseril will give leadership for the motorcade and the related matters.
