St. Mary’s School Chandigarh celebrated Silver Jubilee Celebration

A magnificent function of Silver Jubilee celebration was held at St. Mary’s School, Chandigarh on Sunday 12th October 2014. It was a great moment that stirred the excitement of all the students and staff as many eminent dignitaries graced the momentous occasion.
His Grace Dr. Youhanon Mar Demetrios Metropolitan of Delhi Diocese inaugurated the function and Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Sh. Shivraj V Patil was the Chief Guest. The occasion was also graced by the benign presence of Very Rev M.S. Skariah Ramban, and R . J. Khanderao, Regional officer CBSE. The programme started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The hon’ble chairman Rev.Fr John K Jacob presented the welcome address. The inaugural speech by His Grace was truly inspiring and encouraging the all as it bordered on ethics, values and services to the society at large.
Headmistress Mrs. Mini Jose presented the annual report, highlighting the achievements and milestones briefly. To commemorate the completion of 25 glorious years of the institution a special edition of magazine “Menorah” – the Reminiscence 2014-15 was released by the Chief Guest honourable Sh. Shivraj V Patil. The meritorious students were awarded with prizes and certificates. The event was preceded by various dances depicting the different colors of lives in different parts of the country. The dancers truly showed the ‘Generation of smiles across miles’ by their splendid and colorful dance performances.
The event concluded with vote of thanks rendered by the Principal Mr. M.M. Thomas . The silver jubilee celebration was a great success and the entire St. Mary’s family has been gifted with sweet memories to cherish.
